Responsible Gambling

Play Within Your Limits

Gaming is a legal leisure activity for adults, but involves real financial and psychological risks. The core principle of responsible gambling is that it is kept as entertainment — never a way to generate income or chase losses. If gambling stops being fun, it is time to stop.

Age Requirement — Ontario

You must be 19 years of age or older to gamble legally in Ontario, Canada. Online gambling in Ontario is overseen by iGaming Ontario (iGO) and the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO). All licensed operators are mandated to verify player age during registration. Do not play for money if you are under the legal age.

Signs of Problem Gambling

Gambling may be becoming a concern if you: wager more than you can afford to lose, chase losses, sacrifice work or personal relationships to gamble, borrow money to support gambling, feel anxious about gambling outcomes, or keep secret your gambling activity from others.

Player Protection Resources

Licensed Ontario operators are mandated by AGCO to offer: wagering limits, session time limits, reality check alerts, cooling-off periods, and self-exclusion. You can also self-exclude across all Ontario-regulated sites through iGaming Ontario. Define your personal limits before you begin playing — it is the most effective harm-reduction step available.
